The aim of this programme is to promote educational achievement at various levels of education and to advance research and study in areas related to Sime Darby’s core businesses. The programme comprises of five types of assistance:

YSD Excellence Scholarship Programme
Scholarship recipients are able to attend courses both local and overseas at pre-university, undergraduate, post graduate levels, at selected universities identified by Sime Darby.

YSD Public Policy Programme
In promoting good public policy, YSD sponsors potential leaders from the Civil Service and Armed Forces for exposure in development and formulation of public policy.

YSD 'Star' Scholarship Programme
This programme sponsors young, talented individuals who have made significant contribution to the nation in the fields of sports, music, environment and science/ research.

YSD Bursary Programme
The programme awards students from low income families who have achieved satisfactory academic performance. The sponsorship is for full-time undergraduate and diploma courses.

YSD Skill Enrichment Programme
This programme identifies both the public and staff of Sime Darby to undertake technical courses at Sime Darby skill centres i.e. Sime Darby Plantation Academy, Sime Darby Industrial Academy and Sime Darby Nursing & Health Sciences College.
