Yayasan Sime Darby (YSD) runs an extensive conservation programme aimed at preserving a number of Malaysian animals under threat of extinction - the sun bear, orangutan, pygmy elephant, clouded leopard, hornbill, banteng, proboscis monkey, Sumatran rhinoceros and Malayan tiger. All of our nine, with the exception of the Malayan tiger, can be found in the Tabin Wildlife Reserve in Sabah. Others such as the hornbill and the sun bear can be found in Peninsular Malaysia as well. These animals are collectively (and fondly), known as our Big 9.
We are proud to share with you that the National Geographic Channel (NGC) will be highlighting YSD’s Big 9 initiative over the next 3 months.
Short clips and vignettes promoting the Big 9 will be aired in between programmes from 5 March, 6pm onwards until the last week of May 2010. These short clips and vignettes will be shown on NGC (Astro 553), Star Movies (Astro 413) and Star World (Astro 711).
In addition, programmes will be aired from 7 March until 3 April 2010 on NGC (Astro 553) to feature the following animals that YSD supports under the Big 9 initiative:

We hope that you will help to spread the word and invite your loved ones and acquaintances to enjoy the programmes with us.
