Dato' Dr. Madeline Berma
Dato' Dr. Madeline Berma, a Malaysian, was appointed to the Governing Council of Yayasan Sime Darby on 14 September 2023.

Dato' Dr. Madeline obtained her Bachelor of Economics (Honours) degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and her Master of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. Her intellectual prowess and commitment to her field led to the conferment of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Hull, England, with a specialisation in poverty and economic development.

Dato’ Dr Madeline is highly regarded for her 35-year academic career, during which she held several roles at her alma mater, UKM. Having done extensive research on economic development, focusing on rural development, indigenous communities, and women, she is an active contributor to both academia and society.
