Our Projects
Under its "Environment" pillar, Yayasan Sime Darby dedicates itself to the protection and preservation of the environment and the conservation of biodiversity, while preserving landscape and selectively, seascape. This includes support for, and the promotion of, initiatives to protect and conserve forests and the sea; species and their biodiversity; and ensure that high conservation value ecosystems are protected. Priority is given to vulnerable and/or endangered species and the preservation of the forest reserves, including areas in and around Sime Darby’s operations.
Elephants are irreplaceable in maintaining the cycle of nature. These gentle giants play an integral role in the dispersal of megafaunal-syndrome plants.
The Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC) was established in 2008 to provide care and rehabilitation for rescued Bornean sun bears and to raise awareness both locally and internationally.
Borneo Rhinoceros Sanctuary (BRS) is a joint initiative of the Borneo Rhinoceros Alliance (BORA) and the Sabah Wildlife Department (SWD), in which YSD has supported since 2009.
