YSD Chief Executive Officer Dr Hjh Yatela Zainal Abidin said, “The launch represents a significant milestone for us as we utilise the advancement of technology yet again to provide access to high-quality education for our scholars. This also demonstrates how YSD THRIVE provides a more comprehensive and wholesome learning experience during each student’s scholarship tenure.
“Making use of the e-learning platform at their own pace and completing other YSD THRIVE activities will also be able to boost the scholars’ confidence and prepare them for real-world challenges. It will also ensure that their competency levels are on par with the Sime Darby companies’ hiring requirements and their skills are relevant to practical industry needs,” she added.
As the foundation strives towards providing education assistance inclusively with a focus on the underprivileged, selected high-achieving YSD Bursary scholars are also given 12-month access to the platform every year. Making the most out of YSD e-Learning Platform will enhance their credentials and employability with the necessary knowledge and certifications encompassing both hard and soft skills.
Since its inception, YSD has awarded scholarships and bursaries worth RM301.5 million to young Malaysians, mostly from the middle to low-income families. YSD scholarship and bursary programmes are awarded to deserving outstanding young talents as well as students with different abilities, socioeconomic standings and academic inclinations.
