National Stroke Association of Malaysia - NASAM Stroke Games 2019

The 2nd National Stroke Association of Malaysia - NASAM Stroke Games 2019 was held from 19 – 20 October 2019 at the Panasonic National Sports Complex, Shah Alam. Over 300 stroke survivors across Malaysia and Singapore were participating in the Games realising the theme: “Celebrating Life After Stroke” with the aim to encourage them to continue engaging in an active lifestyle post-stroke. 


The event provided them a platform to perform various physical activities specially modified to suit their different levels of abilities while promoting awareness and advocacy to help reduce the risk of stroke among Malaysians. Among the competitive events featured today are walking relay, basketball free throws, sitting volleyball and indoor cycling.



The event began with a march past - Stroke Champions of all NASAM Clubs and Guest Teams from other stroke rehab organisations and World Stroke Organisation followed by a launch gimmick: Torch Relay ceremony passed from stroke champions to the guests of honours HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad CEO Mr. Stuart Milne, Sime Darby Property Berhad Acting Group CEO Dato’ Wan Hashimi Albakri, NASAM Patron YABhg Toh Puan Dato’ Seri Hajjah Dr. Aishah Ong, Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development YB Hannah Yeoh to YAB Tun Jeanne Abdullah who then officially declared the opening of the 2nd NASAM Stroke Games 2019.
