Yayasan Sime Darby invites qualified undergraduate students for the September 2025 intake and first-year undergraduate students to apply for an excellence scholarship to pursue/complete their academic dreams at a reputable higher learning institution in Malaysia.
Eligibility Requirements
- Malaysian.
- Age 25 years or below.
- Completed STPM/ Pre-University/ Foundation/ Local Matriculation/ Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 3.30.
- Total monthly gross household income of RM11,000 and below.
- Strong leadership qualities through various leadership positions in school, national and/or global competitions and/or sporting events.
- Active participation in community service.

Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to undergo YSD THRIVE – Future Leaders, a comprehensive learning experience for YSD scholars towards producing high quality and well-rounded graduates. The initiative offers tailored soft skills training, access to an e-learning platform, volunteering opportunities, mentorship and internships at Sime Darby Berhad and Sime Darby Property Berhad.
Note: Scholarship monies will be disbursed upon execution of scholarship agreement.
Service Bond Period
3 years at Sime Darby Berhad or Sime Darby Property Berhad upon completion of studies.
YSD Special Needs Bursary
About
Yayasan Sime Darby invites promising People with Disability (PWD) undergraduate or diploma students for the September 2025 intake and first-year students to apply for a bursary to pursue tertiary education at any recognised Malaysian higher learning institutions.
Eligibility Requirements
- Malaysian.
- Aged 25 years or below.
- Students with disabilities who are registered OKU cardholders.
- Obtained a minimum five (5) credits in SPM for Diploma applicants.
- Completed STPM / Pre-University / Foundation / Local Matriculation / Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 for Undergraduate applicants.
Accepted Fields of Study
YSD accepts any fields of study except for medicine.
Accepted Universities
YSD welcomes candidates who are currently studying; and those who have obtained firm or conditional offer from any recognised Malaysian higher learning institutions that are approved by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
Value of Scholarship


Monthly Allowance

This bursary award is up to a maximum amount of RM15,000 per year.
Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to undergo YSD THRIVE – Rising Talent, a wholesome learning experience specially designed for our Bursary and TVET scholars, including tailored employability skills training, wellness support, mentoring, industry meetups, volunteerism opportunities and access to an e-learning platform.
Note: Scholarship monies will be disbursed upon execution of scholarship agreement.
Service Bond Period
Bursary recipients are not required to serve a scholarship bond at Sime Darby Berhad, SD Guthrie Berhad and Sime Darby Property Berhad.

Eligibility Requirements
- Malaysian.
- Aged 18 to 25 years old.
- Monthly household income of RM5,000 and below.
- Possess basic reading and writing skills.
- Final year student of Diploma Vocational Malaysia (DVM) in automotive, electric and electronic industries with a minimum CGPA of 2.50.
- At least grade C for Bahasa Melayu in Sijil Vokasional Malaysia (SVM).
- Able to communicate in English or Malay; and
- Pass interview session carried out by YSD.

About
Employees who are currently studying and those who are interested in pursuing diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate studies locally on a part-time basis are invited to apply for a scholarship.
Eligibility Requirements
- Malaysian.
- Employee must receive an approval from their respective Head of Department at SD Guthrie Berhad, Sime Darby Berhad and Sime Darby Property Berhad (three companies).
- A full-time employee at any three companies or its subsidiaries in Malaysia only. This privilege will not be extended to employees in associated corporations (“Associate Companies” means companies in which the three Companies above shareholding is less than 50%).
- At least 2 years of service within any three companies.
- A minimum CGPA of 3.30 and above and/or its equivalent in his/her most recent academic qualification.
Accepted Fields of Study
Fields of study that are related to three companies businesses, subject to approval from the respective Human Resource Department of three companies.

Eligibility Requirements
- Malaysian.
- Minimum CGPA of 2.50 for STPM/ Pre-University/ Foundation/ Local Matriculation/ Diploma; or minimum of 5 credits for SPM.
- Employee (child’s parent) must be a full-time employee at SD Guthrie Berhad, Sime Darby Berhad, Sime Darby Property Berhad (three companies) or its subsidiaries in Malaysia only. This privilege will not be extended to employees in associated corporations (“Associate Companies” refer to companies in which the three Companies above shareholding is less than 50%).
- Employee (child’s parent) who is currently seconded to the company’s subsidiary outside Malaysia is eligible for this sponsorship.
- Employee (child’s parent) per capita income must not exceed RM3,000 per month.

Eligibility Requirements
- Malaysian.
- Employee is nominated by the HR department of SD Guthrie Berhad, Sime Darby Berhad and Sime Darby Property Berhad (three companies) from high-potential talent pool.
- A full-time employee at any three companies or its subsidiaries in Malaysia only. This privilege will not be extended to employees in associated corporations (“Associate Companies” means companies in which the three Companies above shareholding is less than 50%).
- At least 2 years of service within three companies.

Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Asia School of Business (ASB).
Value of Scholarship
The scholarship covers course fees inclusive of academic fees, enrolment deposit, book allowance, thesis allowance, on-campus accommodation for the residency weeks, 3-week MIT Sloan immersion, as well as flight, meals and other related expenses for the MIT Sloan immersion.
