Scholarship Programme (Indonesia)

Yayasan Sime Darby invites qualified Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) or diploma holders from recognised academic institutions to apply for education sponsorships to pursue undergraduate studies at recognised Indonesian universities approved by YSD.

We are looking for well-rounded Malaysian candidates who have attained excellent academic achievements, demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities as well those who devoted time to make an impact to the community through their extra-curricular activities.

1) Eligibility and Minimum Requirement
Applicants for this programme must fulfill the following requirements:

Malaysian;
Aged 25 or below;
STPM/Diploma (minimum CGPA of at least 3.00);
Total monthly gross household income of RM11,000 and below;
Active participation in extra-curricular activities, sporting events and community service;
Strong leadership qualities through various leadership positions held in school and societies;
Good communication skills.

Important note: Interested candidates who are in their first year (semester 1 & semester 2) at top local universities are encouraged to apply.
2) Accepted Fields of Study
Scholarships will be offered to candidates who are inclined to pursue the following fields of study, subject to the university’s admission offer:

Engineering and Sciences related courses:

Mechanical Engineering
Agriculture and Plantation related

Note: Scholarships for courses other than those mentioned above are not available.
3) Accepted Universities (Indonesia)
Below is the list of universities in Indonesia, accepted by YSD, for the scholarship programme:

Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITP)
Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB)
4) Value Of Scholarship
The full scholarship includes tuition fees, a living allowance, book allowance, computer allowance, shipping allowance, and flight tickets at the beginning and end of studies.

Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to undergo a Scholars Development Programme and experience work exposure through internships at Sime Darby Companies i.e. Sime Darby Plantation Berhad, Sime Darby Property Berhad and Sime Darby Berhad.
5) Service Bond Period
Upon completion of studies, scholars will be required to serve Sime Darby Companies for 5 to 6 years, depending on the value of the scholarships.
6) Scholarship Application
Application for YSD Scholarship Programmes is Now Closed. The application window will open next year.
